Today is the second day of the euron class and I couldn't sleep last night since I am going to dissect the human brain today. There are six MRI scanners in Maastricht university and they are applied to patients and research use mainly. Professor Backes, a chubby and humorous man, leads us into the room and demonstrates some mechanisms of the scanner. Why the machines make a loud and restless noise? Why iron materials couldn't be taken into the scanner room etc. He asks for a belt made of iron and I gave mine to him, and I tell him that I worry about my pants falling down,everyone in the room laughs.He puts belt near the scanner, it flies a little closer to the machine. He turns around to me: your belt is not made of iron. Then I had an overview of the Transcranial Magenetic Stimulation demonstration, this device is to suppress or enhance the neuronal activity in brain. I am surprised to find that the physics learned in middle school really counts. Never doubt that the things you learn, some day you will regret not having them. I learn clinical medicine in my bachelor degree and many people complain the medicine knowledge is difficult and useless to us most of the time, I also complain that why should I know anything about maths limits and programming? I don't know the reason for pathophysiology and many anatomy courses. Now, all the courses paid back. They make my stay easier in maastricht and I could understand terminology for anatomy. After leaving the MRI scanner,I find I lost my scarf and it is my favourite one! I turn to Nicole for help and hope for the discovery of my scarf. The human brain dissections is really a rare chance to dissect human brain by myself. Every five students have a brain and dissect together with a tutor. I see the closing eyes of the dead man and all my hairs stand out. The only way to calm my nerve is to cover his face. I gently cover his face with a cloth and start moving the blade.From the frontal lobe to the occipital lobes, from the temporal lobe to the parietal lobes, I get my inner finger crosses for the dead body and wish him forgive every blade I cut.
