People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self centred;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you;
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating others could destroy overnight;
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will be often forgotten;
Do good anyway

Give the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

Now I understand why god is so important in our daily life.
Anyway, the poem shocks me absolutely.
Often we chose to escape the truths which hurt us, though we did good things.Now I decide to do it anyway, though it brings bad.The world is complex, so we must face it bravely,both the good side and the bad side.And never give up in the hard time.Because god understand when you try.I mean, we may not take those we don't appreciate as the standard to value our life. If you really want someone to value what you did or something meaningful, take god and your ideal.And you will never feel lonely and meaningless if others exclude you again.

After reading  this poem, a book named  "Tolerance" by Hendrik Willem Van Loon bring to my mind quickly.

当年读房龙《宽容》的感触油然而生：

宽容是一种气度，更是一种文明。

天空是宽容的，她容忍了雷电风暴一时的肆虐，才有了她的深邃之美；

大海是宽容的，她容忍了惊涛骇浪一时的猖獗，才有了她的辽阔之美；

森林是宽容的，她容忍了弱肉强食一时的规律，才有了她的原始之美；

宇宙是宽容的，她容忍了星座裂变一时的更替，才有了她的神秘之美；

时间是宽容的，她容忍了各色人等一时的虚掷，才有了她的延续之美……

但是，宽容有时与惩治密不可分，惩治是另一种宽容。

大堤如果容忍了蚁穴的扩展，将毁于一旦，从而失去他的伟岸，因此惩治蚁穴是对大堤的宽容；

国家如果容忍了民族的分裂，将陷入混乱，从而失去她的完整，因此惩治分裂是对民族的宽容；

法制如果容忍了罪犯的横行，将失信于民，从而失去他的威严，因此惩治罪犯是对民众的宽容；

自然如果容忍了污染的侵蚀，将灾难重重，从而失去她的美丽，因此惩治污染是对自然的宽容……

宽容是一束阳光，时刻笼罩着我们，就看人们如何去面对。
