【Abstract】 Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of hyperoxic solution on cognitive impairment of patients treated with ECT and discuss the responsive mechanisms. Method: One hundred and eight patients met CCMD-3 criteria for major depression were randomly divided into two groups: ECT combined with hyperoxic solution treatment group, ECT combined with saline treatment group (control group) . Every patient were treated with a right unilateral, brief pulse, square-wave stimulus, dose titration ECT. Before and after course of 6 times ECT Clinical Memory Score and Reaction Time were tested. Results: In hyperoxic solution treatment group the subtests of target memory, image characteristic recall and learning of Clinical Memory Scale Scores were higher, and the reaction time were lower than those in control group. Conclusion: Hyperoxic solution is benefic for the recovery of cognitive impairment caused by ECT treatment.
