April 09,2006: All these things are against me (Gen. 42:36)

All things work together for good to them that love God. (Rom. 8:28)
Many people are wanting power. Now how is power produced? The other day we passed the great works where the trolley engines are supplied with electricity. We heard the hum and roar of he countless wheels, and we asked our friend, How do they make power?
Why, he said, just by the revolution of those wheels and the friction they poduce. The rubbing
creates the electric current.
And so, when God wants to bring more power into your life, He brings more pressure.

April 12,2006: And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan,

and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil.
Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost, and yet He was tempted.
Very few men have such conflicts with the devil as Martin Luther had. Why? Because Martin
Luther was going to shake the very kingdom of hell. Oh, what conflicts John Bunyan had.
If a man has much of the Spirit of God, he will have great conflict with he tempter.God permits temptation because it does for us what the storms do for the oaks---it roots us; and what
the fire does for the paintings on the porcelain--it makes them permanent.
You never know that you have a grip on Christ!

April 13, 2006: and the hand of the Lord was there upon me; and he said unto me,

Arise, go forth unto the plain, and I will theretalk with thee. " (Ezek. 3:22)
Did you ever hear of any one being much used for Christ who did no have some waiting time,
some complete upset of all his or her plans first;
You were looking forward to telling about trusting Jesus in Syria; now He sas, : I want you to show what it is to trust Me, with without waiting for Syria.
My own case is far less severe, but the same in pronciple, that when I thought the door was
flung open for me to go with a bound into literary work, it is spposed, and doctor steps in
and says, simply, "Never! She must choose between writing and living; she can't do both.

All things work together for good to them that love God. (Rom. 8:28)

April 18,2006: And he shall bring it to pass (Psa. 37:5)

I once thought that after i prayed that it was my duty to do everthing that i could do to bring the answer to pass. e taought me a better way, and showed that my self-effort always hindered
His working, and that when i prayed and definitely believed Him for anything, He wanted me to wait in the spirit of praise, and only do what He bade me. It seems so nsafe to just sit still, and do nothing but trust the Lord; and the temptation to take battle into our own hands is often trememdous.
We all know how imppssible it is to rescue a drowning man who tries to help his rescuer, and it
is equally impossible for the Lord to fight our battle for us when we insist upon trying to fight
them ourselves. It is not that He will not, but He cannot. Our interference hinders His working

回复 #41 绿罗裙 的帖子

是啊。宋老师不愧为爱心天使。
可是他叽哩呱啦一口气的说这么多,而且单词又是这么长,我都要翻词典翻半天,还记不住。笨死了。
我好象没有福份了......

04/19/2006: Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. (Exod. 14:13)

These words contain God's command to the believer when he is reduced to great straits and
brought into extraordinary difficulties. He cannot retreat; he cannot go forward; he is shut
upon the right hand and on the left. What is he now to do?
The Master's word to him is "stand still." It will be well for him if, at such times, he listens only
to his Master's word, for other and evil advisers come with their suggestions. Despair whispers,
"Lie down and die; give it all up." But God would have us put on a cheerful courage, and even
in our own worst times, rejoice in His love and faithfulness.

I even reckon all things as pure loss because of the priceless privilege of knowing Christ Jesus
my Lord.
Shining is always costly. Light comes only at the cost of that which produces it. An unlit candle
does no shining. Burning must come before shining. We cannot be of great use to others without cost to ourselves. Buring suggestes suffering. We shrink from pain.
We are apt to feel that we are doing th greatest good in he world when we are strong, and able for active duty, and when the heart and hands are full of kindly service.
When we are called aside and can only suffer, when we are sick; when we are consumed
with pain; when all of our activities have been dropped, we feel that we are on longer of use,
that we are not doing anything.
